is on in less than 5 hours!!! What is it you ask?! Project Runway of course! I've been addicted to this show since it first aired and it's the one time that I demand to have complete control over the remote. So normally Dan goes to bed whenever it's on because he knows that I won't give in. The first season is still by far my fav. We really don't tune into the same shows week after week. I've never seen Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives or anything like that. The only thing that we ever tune too from time to time when we remember is My name is Earl......love that show! I guess we just watch a lot more cable channels than anything else. The TV is on and off throughout the daytime, mostly depending on what type of mood in. I usually turn it to Noggin in the morning and Lilly will watch it for a little bit, but she's certainly not glued to it which is good. We've been spending a lot of time running around the kitchen island lately. I like surprising her and hearing her giggle and scream! And since she broke my wacom pen last week, I've been using the time to get things ready for Betsy's shower and knitting some washclothes (exciting I know) for Mary. I have so much to do for Thanksgiving, which I didn't realize had creeped up on me so quickly. Hopefully it will all taste good and won't be a complete disaster!!
Watching the Wizard of Oz with Lilly for the first time. I was a Wizard of Oz fanatic when I was a little girl. I had pics all over my room, all of the books and I couldn't wait to go see the ruby slippers in DC when we went there on vacation. Watching movies like that and the Sound of Music bring back so many memories of my mom.....she just loved watching movies like that and singing along. I don't really recall whether or not she had a good voice, but I guess that doesn't matter. She loved the Beatles and would always put a tape in the stereo whenever she was making pie crusts.....totally random I know, but she would always without fail get a hole in the crust and start swearing at it.....I guess singing to the Beatles calmed her down! I guess I just have a deep love for all things that remind me of my childhood and my mom.
So I never received a call back from my hubby's family that I was supposed to take pics of this weekend. A little disappointing since they're the ones that approached me about taking pics. I guess me and Lilly will just have to go to the park or something for some cute shots in her little winter poncho that her grandma got her. We tried going today, but a construction crew was blocking the entrance. At this point nothing concrete planned for this weekend. I have to work on the clay pots for my sister's baby shower. I'm making rice crispy treats pops in the shape of a flower and then dipping them into white chocolate dyed pink. So they'll be serving as the centerpieces and as the favors. And then I have to work on the closet that I'm making for the shower as well for all of the clothes that I bought. I've already spent wayyyyyyyy too much money and I'm not even done yet......luckily she's one of my favorite people in the world and she's worth it! Anyways, I kinda like this whole Vox thing, especially since I know like 1.5 people read it!!! I can type ten times faster than I can write in my journal (which has dust all over it!) and it's nice just getting things out!!!
I've been doing a lot of reading. I've been trying to figure out what studio lighting I should ask for for Christmas. A couple of people recommended the Alien Bee lights. But then I stumbled upon this site here and I was so happy that I found it! My SB-800 is supposed to arrive on Wednesday which will give me a couple of days of practice just in case the family shoot that I'm doing on Saturday ends up heading indoors. So that site has given me some hope that the $300 I just spent on this flash wasn't wasted money. I know that I still have a ton to learn, but I've ordered some books from Amazon so that will hopefully help me with the technical stuff. I think that once I get the technical aspect of everything and once I get CS3 down, I'll have an edge over the other photographers around me. There really isn't much of a selection around here, but one thing that they all tend to have in common is cheesy backdrops.......like the horrible ones I remember from our school portraits.
In other news my dad was interviewed today by the Syracuse newspaper for the release on his book. I know that he's happy about it since they decided not to sell it through Amazon because of how much they wanted to charge for it. It'll bring him some more exposure which is always a good thing!!!
I guess it's finally time to make my first post! Maybe I'll talk about all of those things that my hubby doesn't want me to talk about on our family blog......like the fact that I'm a democrat!! Talk about a subject that can't be discussed in this household lol!!! Not much else to post today.....Lilly really pooped me out today! How about a pic of my Lilly....

So... you move and don't even tell me... nice. LOL read more
on Well........
